YMC-Triart Phenyl

Hybrid silica based column offering unique selectivity due to π-π interactions.

YMC-Triart Phenyl is an organic/inorganic hybrid silica particle with phenylbutyl bonding (L11 USP designation). Well-balanced hydrophobic interactions and π–π interactions that are unique to the phenyl group have been achieved through optimization of the bonding density and spacer chain length (C4).

YMC-Triart Phenyl is ideal for the separation of isomers or structural analogs that tend to have strong retention, such as compounds with aromatic rings or long conjugated systems. The surface modification common throughout the YMC-Triart series provides excellent durability and peak shape without any non-specific adsorption effects.

Characteristics

  • Ideal for separation of aromatic compounds or compounds with long conjugated systems
  • Unique selectivity due to π-π interactions
  • Excellent resolution without adsorption and tailing
  • 100% aqueous stable (no phase de-wetting for reversed phase)
  • Available from UHPLC to preparative particle sizes

Applications

Typical applications include: aromatic compounds, pharmaceuticals, sweeteners

YMC-Triart Prep Phenyl-S

Available in a 10 µm particle size, YMC-Triart Prep Phenyl-S allows for effortless method transfer from analytical to preparative. Even at larger scale, separation is proven to remain consistent across all particle sizes. In addition to a wide pH range of 2 – 10 for normal use, the resin can withstand up to 12 for column cleaning. This allows for more efficient cleaning-in-place (CIP) procedures including the use of alkaline.

Materials can be purchased in prepacked analytical
and preparative columns or in bulk resin format.
