YMC-Pack ODS-AL
Classical phase for mixed mode separations.
YMC-Pack ODS-AL is a non-endcapped, high carbon load, monomeric C18 phase. It exhibits different selectivity from conventional ODS columns due to the use of not only hydrophobic interaction, but also secondary interactions caused by silanol groups. YMC-Pack ODS-AL is intended for use only in those situations where residual silanol activity is beneficial to the separation. It is not recommended for the analysis of amines or other compounds with basic functional groups present, as peak tailing may occur.
*Tip: When ionic interaction is utilized, it is preferable to use a buffer in the mobile phase to achieve the best reproducibility.
Characteristics
- Possesses residual silanols for mixed mode separations
- Same high ligand density as other YMC ODS phases
- Unique selectivity for polar compounds
Applications
Typical applications include: tocopherols, fat-soluble vitamins, disinfectants
