YMC America will make a donation to St Jude Children’s Hospital for every prepacked column sold.

Reversed phase column with the lowest hydrophobicity.

YMC-Pack TMS exhibits shorter retention times than other packing materials and is useful for developing faster methods for highly hydrophobic compounds. Additionally, this stationary phase can oftentimes achieve greater retention and better separation of hydrophilic analytes than other reversed-phase columns due to its unique separation characteristics.

YMC-Pack TMS columns are bonded with trimethylmonochlorosilane to create a phase with intermediate polarity. This makes for a versatile stationary phase that is useful for analysis of extremely hydrophobic compounds using conventional reversed-phase solvents, or highly polar compounds using high aqueous solvents. The unique chemistry of this packing material is also well-suited for the analysis of multifunctional compounds. Selectivity characteristics of a C1 bonded phase can be unique, and samples must be evaluated to determine the applicability of the phase.

Characteristics

  • Shortest of all alkyl-bonded phases
  • Intermediate polarity between normal phase silica
and other alkyl-bonded reversed phases

Applications

Typical applications include: water-soluble vitamins

Preparative Particle Sizes

YMC-Pack TMS with particle sizes of 10 µm and higher are available as part of the YMC*Gel High Grade (HG) series. These resins boast improved mechanical stability as well as narrower particle size and pore size distribution. YMC-Pack TMS-HG can be purchased in prepacked analytical and preparative columns or in bulk resin format.
