Summary
The Shipper Receiver is responsible for shipping, receiving, materials handling and incoming inspection functions, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment while meeting or exceeding department goals for productivity, service, and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and packages shipments of various sized boxes, pallets, and crates for large equipment systems.
- Able to operate saws and drills to assist building skid blocking.
- Schedule and create documentation for domestic and international shipments utilizing FedEx, UPS and other freight forwarders.
- Operates fork truck and/or pallet jack to load or unload trucks.
- Maintains and organizes inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Receives and verifies all incoming material and packages against PO and packing list.
- Performs transactions in ERP system and utilizes Excel spreadsheets.
- Performs initial Inspection of incoming parts and materials for damage. Generates a Non-conformance if required.
- Distributes materials to locations including inventory, non-inventory and office locations.
- Maintains consumable inventory for shipping and receiving area.
- Supports inventory and material handling as required. Perform weekly inventory cycle counts for main stockroom. Return materials from projects to warehouse after project completion.
- Adheres to all workplace safety procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent, and 5+ yrs. related shipping and receiving experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of international shipping document requirements and trade compliances for small packages & freight packages is required.
- Experience with FedEx, UPS World Ship, DHL etc. is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel.
- Ability to be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skill and Experience
- Experience using the ACE government system for filing shipments over $2500 in value preferred.
- ERP experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with assembly of large prefab shipping crates utilizing carpentry hand tools preferred.
